With an economic recession, a growing pandemic and possible thermonuclear war making headlines, it’s no wonder that people turn to the Daily Show for the lighter side of the coming Apocalypse. I ask, is there a Twitter equivalent? I answer, yes.

Does this toga make me look frat?

Bluelanugo could very well be a Daily Show writer. His tweets hold nothing sacred in the day’s happenings. Whether it be his musings on Swine Flu or a commentary on his last meal, BL wrings out the funny from the terry cloth we call life.

Maybe I’m praising too hard. This is not a paid advertisement for the brand that is Bluelanugo…but if he ever makes a name for himself, remember me, BL. It is clear that not every tweet is a winner, but he is a prolific user. Considering how much content he spews, Bluelanugo has a high batting average.

Want a new job title, here at the celery farm. “Stalker” isn’t doing me any favors with the chicks that hang out around the Snapple machine.

As far as the rest of my grading spectrum is concerned, mileage varies. If you follow BL, you will be aware of the big news of the week, but you will want to research futher for a serious take. His stream is nearly absent of self promotion which is always refreshing. He is also light on @ replies even though he has been easy in contact in my experience. To keep his Twitter pure, it appears he opts for DMs over public messages.

My advice? Follow BlueLanugo unless you just don’t get it.
